Human dignity is the philosophical and ethical principle that every person possesses inherent and inviolable value, regardless of birth, background, or ability. Ikeda Daisaku (池田大作) connected it to the Lotus Sutra's teaching on Buddha nature as the foundation of modern peace philosophy.
Philosophically, happiness is understood either as hedonia (maximizing pleasure) or eudaimonia (fulfilling human potential through virtue). Buddhist and Soka philosophy define happiness as an inner life state—'absolute happiness' arising from value creation rather than external conditions.
